Giorgi Amilakhvari, Georgian Minister of Education and Science met Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) within the framework of his visit to Strasbourg.
The sides spoke about the significance of education in the development of democracy and reviewed ongoing and planned projects in Georgia.
Giorgi Amilakhvari thanked Marija Pejčinović Burić for support in ensuring access to education by locals residing across the occupied regions.
The CoE Secretary General, in turn, positively assessed the Georgian education reforms and pledged support to Georgia’s education system in the future.
Tamar Taliashvili, Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, attended the meeting.
