The Minister of Education, Givi Mikanadze, hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Georgia, Massimiliano D’Antuono.
According to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the meeting focused on existing cooperation in the fields of education, science, and youth, as well as prospects for its further development.
“Special attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects, including cooperation in youth camps.
The expansion of Italian language teaching in Georgia and the growing interest in it were highlighted, further strengthening educational and cultural ties between the two countries.
The importance of deepening academic and scientific cooperation between higher education institutions of Georgia and Italy was also emphasized.
The parties also discussed the possibility of introducing Italian as an optional foreign language in the Unified National Examinations of Georgia.
At the end of the meeting, Givi Mikanadze expressed gratitude for the long-standing and fruitful cooperation between Georgia and Italy. For his part, Massimiliano D’Antuono confirmed his readiness to further expand cooperation,” the Ministry said in a statement.
