Economy Minister officially opens TUMO Centre at Kutaisi Tech Hub to empower youth in digital skills
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, has officially inaugurated the TUMO Centre at the Kutaisi Tech Hub.
According to the Ministry, Kvrivishvili observed the learning environment and met with the inaugural cohort of students who began their studies just days ago.
The TUMO Centre represents a vital anchor of the Kutaisi Tech Hub ecosystem. It brings an internationally acclaimed educational model to Georgia—one already operating with remarkable success worldwide.
Nearly 1,500 students have already registered for the centre’s educational programs, with an initial intake of 600 young minds commencing their coursework. Designed for teenagers aged 12 to 18, the program builds essential digital, technological, and creative skills. It covers key disciplines such as software development, robotics, game design, animation, graphic design, 3D modelling, filmmaking, music production, and the fundamentals of generative AI.
The educational framework centres on self-directed learning, combining interactive modules, hands-on workshops, and practical labs where participants gain real-world experience through project-based work.
“Tuition at TUMO Kutaisi is fully funded, ensuring young people have completely free access to modern educational opportunities,” the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development noted in a statement.
