Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili held a meeting with Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
According to the Economy Ministry, the discussion focused on key areas of cooperation, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, digital transformation, the development of green transport and other priority sectors.
The parties also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Tbilisi Silk Road Forum. Alisjahbana is scheduled to participate in the event on October 22.
ESCAP serves as an intergovernmental platform promoting sustainable development and regional cooperation among its 53 member states and nine associate members across the Asia-Pacific region. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana has headed the Commission as its Executive Secretary since 2018.
