Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the two sides discussed prospects for deepening trade and economic relations between Georgia and the UAE, strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and developing economic ties between the two nations.

“In the context of deepening bilateral trade and economic relations, the importance of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates was highlighted. Officials noted that preparations are underway for the inaugural meeting of the agreement’s Joint Committee. Concurrently, a trade mission featuring major exporters and procurement companies from both nations has been planned to boost exports and strengthen trade relations.

The parties welcomed the progress of bilateral cooperation in the trade sector, noting that trade turnover in 2025 surpassed USD 430 million, a 15% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Furthermore, exports surged by 89%. The meeting highlighted that the participation of Georgian manufacturers in agro-industrial and other international exhibitions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi plays a vital role in deepening economic integration.

Particular attention was drawn during the meeting to an investment of unprecedented scale in Georgia’s history within the real estate sector: a USD 6.6 billion project by Eagle Hills in Tbilisi and Gonio.

Discussions also touched upon a major investment executed within Georgia’s logistics sector, specifically the ‘Tbilisi Dry Port’ project.

The two sides further reviewed ongoing and planned projects within Georgia’s transport sector. Among these, the focus was placed on the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, which the Government of Georgia is developing under the landlord model, as well as the modernisation of Georgian Railway, for which a one-billion-GEL investment will be deployed this year alone, and the new Tbilisi Airport in Vaziani.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze and Irakli Nadareishvili, alongside the Ambassador of Georgia to the United Arab Emirates, George Janjgava,” the Ministry of Economy statement concluded.
