Economy Minister meets Singapore’s State Minister for Trade and Industry

As part of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit to Singapore, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Alvin Tan.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the parties discussed prospects for deepening bilateral trade and economic relations and outlined plans to expand cooperation in areas including transport, logistics, and tourism.

Particular attention was paid to the positive trend in bilateral trade. The ministry said that in January–June 2026, trade turnover between Georgia and Singapore increased by 25% compared to the same period last year, while Georgian domestic exports grew ninefold.

The meeting also highlighted the strong export potential of Georgian wine, alcoholic beverages, mineral water, and pharmaceutical products in the Singaporean market.

The sides discussed the participation of Georgian companies in international trade exhibitions hosted annually in Singapore, noting that such events provide valuable opportunities for exporters to establish new business contacts and promote Georgian products.

The officials also focused on strengthening tourism ties between Georgia and Singapore.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze also attended the meeting, according to the ministry.
