Economy Minister meets Chinese Cyberspace Administration Head

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili met with Zhuang Rongwen, Director of the Cyberspace Administration of the People’s Republic of China, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the meeting emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between Georgia and China, as well as the steady development of trade and economic ties between the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in communications, information technologies, and innovation, which are seen as key drivers for the growth of Georgia’s digital economy.

Minister Kvrivishvili presented Georgia’s digital development priorities, highlighting the country’s ambition to strengthen its role as a digital transit hub connecting Asia and Europe. In this context, the development of large-scale data centers was identified as strategically important for positioning Georgia as a regional digital hub.

The sides also discussed opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence, including partnerships between public institutions and the private sector.
