Economy Minister holds high-level talks with Singaporean Transport and Finance officials

As part of the Georgian Prime Minister’s official visit to Singapore, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili met with Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the meeting covered key avenues of bilateral economic cooperation, with a particular focus on transport, logistics, civil aviation, maritime transport, information technology, and tourism.

“Mariam Kvrivishvili provided detailed insight into Georgia’s development as a regional transport and logistics hub, highlighting substantial state investment in critical infrastructure such as ports, railways, highways, and airports,” the Ministry of Economy statement read.

According to the ministry, particular emphasis was also placed on bolstering cooperation within the context of the Middle Corridor.

“Discussing upcoming infrastructure projects, the Minister drew special attention to the strategic importance of constructing the new Tbilisi International Airport and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.

The parties placed strong emphasis on strengthening partnerships within the maritime and logistics sectors, noting that Georgia is actively working on the digital transformation of its maritime domain as part of the Middle Corridor’s evolution. The importance of expanding collaboration in civil aviation was also underlined,” the ministry has added.
