EC Spokesman: Georgia will get what Georgia was promised

European Commission spokesman Peter Stano Friday said, “Georgia will get everything it’s been promised from the European Union. You will get everything you have been promised.”

During the EC press briefing, the spokesman went on: “The European Council basically asked European Commission to include Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia in the enlargement package.”

“The enlargement package is typically published in autumn each year and the reporting period starts in Spring so it is, of course, obvious that for logical reasons inclusion in this year’s enlargement package of these three countries is not possible for procedural reasons.

What we said also is that the Commission will present the analytical reporting in December this year, dealing exactly with the priorities which have been defined for Georgia so as I said Georgia will get what Georgia was promised and we expect, of course, the same from Georgia that Georgia will deliver on all the things that it is committed too and that are necessary in order to proceed in this very important process,” he stated.
