EBRD increases its forecast for Georgia’s economic growth in 2026 to 6.5 per cent
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) increased its forecast for Georgia’s economic growth in 2026 to 6.5 per cent.
According to the updated forecast by the international financial institution, real GDP is forecast to grow by 6.5 per cent in 2026 and 5.5 per cent in 2027.
“Growth in the first half of the year was broad-based, with information and communications services, manufacturing, transport and storage, and financial and insurance activities among the principal contributors, while income from tourism declined by 2.0 per cent year on year.
Over the same period, merchandise export growth stood at an estimated 20 per cent year on year, outpacing import growth of 2.3 per cent,” reads the report.
