Eagle Hills founder: Eagle Hills project to create 30,000 jobs and boost Georgia’s economy
“The construction phase of the Eagle Hills urban development project in Georgia is expected to create 30,000 jobs and generate $3.5–4 billion in tax revenue for the state budget,” Eagle Hills founder Mohamed Alabbar said after a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
Alabbar stated that the project could increase Georgia’s economic growth by 5 percent.
“If we look at the large-scale projects I’ve developed over the past 30 years, each investment of around $6–6.5 billion had a fourfold effect on the host country’s economy. That means the impact of this initiative—including local purchases, supplies, employment of specialists, architects, and contractors—will be substantial. During the construction stage alone, 30,000 jobs will be created. Additionally, the project will mobilize $3.5–4 billion in tax revenues. Taken separately, a project of this scale can increase the country’s GDP by 5 percent,” Alabbar said.
The Eagle Hills founder also highlighted the project’s potential impact on tourism, noting that it could attract at least half a million visitors.
“Based on our experience in other countries, large urban development projects attract global investments and tourism. Each project also creates opportunities for around 1,000 new businesses. We build schools, public squares, architectural landmarks, and design-rich environments, bringing life to the city. I am delighted that Georgia is embracing this initiative, and we will strive to make it the best project possible,” Alabbar added.
