DTRA hands over triage laboratory to Georgian forensic department

The U.S. Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has transferred a triage laboratory valued at USD 733,490 to the Forensics Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). This handover marks the culmination of a two-year collaborative project between the two agencies.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Shalva Tadumadze, and Director of the Forensic Department, Tengiz Sisauri, met with representatives from the U.S. Department of Defence and the Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to formalise the transfer.

The Georgian delegation expressed gratitude to their American counterparts for their ongoing support. Deputy Minister Tadumadze emphasised that the new laboratory will significantly enhance the capabilities of the Ministry’s Forensic Department.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs maintains active cooperation with the Defence Threat Reduction Agency. Over the years, this partnership has facilitated the successful implementation of numerous projects across various sectors.
