Digital University launched for convicts

A new education platform Digital University has been launched at penitentiary facilities for convicts.

According to the Justice Ministry, the platform will allow prisoner students to get involved in the university learning programs remotely, attend tutorials and communicate with tutors.

The digital platform is activated in cooperation with the Education Ministry.

Justice Minister Rati Bregadze and Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli attended the pilot program’s learning process at the 16th Penitentiary Facility.

Digital University aims to contribute to the rehabilitation and re-socialization of convicts.
