Diaspora Committee Chair deems support of Hungary, Bulgaria as significant message to Europe

“The support of Hungary and Bulgaria is a significant message to Europe,” said Beka Odisharia, Chairman of the parliamentary Diaspora Committee.

According to Beka Odisharia, the declaration adopted by the Bulgarian parliament should be a notice for EU member states.

“We should all remember that in the EU and NATO, any decision is made through a consensus. This means that the support of every country, especially Hungary and Bulgaria, is a significant message to Europe and every member of the European Union. This is a conclusion, collegial assessment, which I believe will be shared by others,” he said.

On October 13, the Bulgarian Parliament passed a declaration backing Georgia’s bid for EU candidate status.
