Deputy Minister of Economy: Information, communication, transport, warehousing, and industry serve as main drivers of economic growth

“The Asian Development Bank (ADB) increased its economic growth forecast for Georgia for 2026 to 6.3%, which represents an improvement of 0.8 percentage points compared to the previous forecast,” said Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

According to the Deputy Minister of Economy, the September economic review issued by the ADB says the Georgian economy exceeded expectations, with high growth of 7.9% in the first half of 2026.

According to Tsintadze, economic growth is quite diversified across sectors and regional tensions had less impact on the country’s economy. He stressed that among the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia region, Georgia has the highest rate of improvement in economic growth.

“This means that Georgia pursues the correct, consistent and predictable economic policy, which is trusted by the private sector, international investors and is reflected in the achievements observed in our economy. We also expect that Georgia’s economic growth by 2026 will be significantly higher than what various international financial institutions are forecasting,” he said.

Vakhtang Tsintsadze highlights ongoing structural reforms and infrastructure projects when speaking about the positive dynamics of economic growth.
