For the first time in the history of independent Georgia, the country’s foreign minister is hosting the foreign ministers of five Central Asian countries in Batumi, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili said.

According to Khvtisiashvili, cooperation between Georgia and Central Asian countries has developed particularly dynamically in recent years. He cited the increasing frequency of high-level visits and the establishment of strategic partnerships with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan as evidence of closer ties.

“The pace of economic development in both Georgia and the Central Asian countries has been particularly striking recently. It can be said that our strategic economic objectives are aligned,” Khvtisiashvili said.

The deputy minister noted that the meeting in Batumi provides an important opportunity to deepen growing political and economic cooperation between Georgia and Central Asian countries and to develop regional ties.

“We believe that the meeting of foreign ministers will promote closer cooperation between the Caucasus and Central Asia, contribute to economic and geopolitical stability, and strengthen connectivity. We hope that meetings of this kind and in this format will continue in the future,” Khvtisiashvili said.
