Deputy Economy Minister on State Department's report: Georgia leads in region

“Based on the report of the U.S. Department of State, Georgia leads in the region with attractive investment conditions, environment and business climate improvement oriented consistent reforms,” said Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

The Deputy Minister echoed the U.S. Department of State report on the 2023 Investment Climate in Georgia, which says that Georgia “favorably compares to regional peers.”

Irakli Nadareishvili remarked that the U.S. Department of State praises ongoing economic reforms, swift post-pandemic recovery, and the sustainability of the Georgian economy to global challenges.

According to Nadareishvili, Bloomberg’s latest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Survey where Georgia ranks 13th place for the investment interest of foreign companies.

“Based on the same survey, 70% of interested investors are optimistic about the Georgian economy, while the similar global figure is 55%,” he said.

“Business and investment conditions are sound. Georgia favorably compares to regional peers,” reads the U.S. Department of State’s report on the 2023 Investment Climate in Georgia.
