Deputy Economy Minister: Georgia’s attractive business climate drives record-breaking domestic exports in June

“June saw a record-breaking surge in domestic exports, with growth exceeding 50%,” announced Vakhtang Tsintsadze, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, whilst discussing last month’s export trends.

In June 2026, total exports rose by 20.4% to an all-time high for June at USD 770.8 million. Domestic exports (which exclude re-exports) grew by 50.5%, amounting to USD 469 million, compared to June last year.

As Vakhtang Tsintsadze pointed out, this positive momentum and record performance are underpinned by the country’s attractive business climate, which serves as a vital anchor for both domestic and international companies operating in the Georgian market.

“This environment encourages both local and international companies to enter the Georgian market, enabling them to launch or expand production across various sectors. Ultimately, this success is reflected not only in exports but also in economic growth, employment, and other key macroeconomic indicators,” the Deputy Minister stated.

Looking at the cumulative figures for January–June 2026, total exports rose by 20.0% to hit a record volume of USD 3,876.3 million. Over the same period, domestic exports grew by 62.6%, totalling USD 2,391.8 million.

Total trade turnover also achieved notable growth last month. June’s turnover reached a record USD 2,396.2 million, up 11.3% compared to the same period last year. For the first half of 2026 as a whole, overall trade turnover increased by 5.8%, reaching a record USD 12,925.4 million.

“Our overarching objective and goal is to sustain these high levels of economic growth within the country. All these figures serve as further proof that business activity is expanding, domestic production is on the rise, and the volume of goods exported from our country is increasing. Ultimately, this will continue to yield positive outcomes for Georgia’s national development indicators,” Vakhtang Tsintsadze concluded.
