Deputy Economy Minister, Deputy Head of Mission at British Embassy discuss direct flight prospects
The prospect of launching direct flights to the UK was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili and Claire Allbless, the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Tbilisi.
The Deputy Minister stated that the Georgian government is actively negotiating direct flying arrangements with British airlines.
According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia’s aviation sector “is rapidly expanding,” with increased passenger flow and record flight numbers and destinations.
“This has a positive impact on international travel statistics and tourism income, which reached over 800 million US dollars in the first quarter of 2024.
We are sure that the start of direct flights will give a significant boost to the growth of tourist flows in Georgia”, stated the Deputy Minister.
