Georgia’s Minister of Defense, Juansher Burchuladze, participated in the 14th regular meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, hosted by US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Joseph Borrell, and Australian Vice Prime Minister Richard Marles attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the international group supporting Ukraine discussed the situation arising from Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and the importance of providing coordinated military assistance to Ukraine in its ongoing conflict. The defense ministers and commanders of the supporting countries’ also addressed Ukraine’s short- and long-term needs.

Ukraine Defense Contact Group, initiated by the United States in April 2022, comprises over 50 countries that support Ukraine in various ways.
