The Minister of Defense of Georgia hosted the British Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton on Thursday.
Juansher Burchuladze thanked the British side for its unwavering support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for its practical assistance.
The Minister stressed the importance of partnership with the UK for enhancing democratic processes and NATO integration. He highlighted the significant contribution of the United Kingdom in the implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP).
The sides reviewed specific aspects of cooperation and expressed hope that the defence ties between the two countries would further strengthen. Talks focused on opportunities for cooperation in the field of military education and international military exercises.
Sides discussed the entry of a British ship into Georgian waters in the coming months.
