Deadline for presentation of presidential candidates at CEC expires on September 8

The initiative groups and political parties, which desire to present their presidential candidates, will have applied to the Central Election Commission (CEC) by 18:00 of September 8. They will also have to collect signatures of supporters with that purpose.

Presentation of candidates must be confirmed with no less than 25 925 (0,75% of voters) signatures.

There are 39 applications submitted to CEC for the time being. Twenty initiative groups and 19 parties presented their candidates. Four candidates are already officially registered.

The 2018 presidential elections will be held on October 28 in Georgia.
