Dead body of Georgian fighter killed in Ukraine brought to Georgia

The dead body of the Georgian fighter killed in Ukraine, Berdia Jokhadze has been brought to Georgia this morning. Family members arrived at the Tbilisi International Airport.

Civil funeral of the deceased Georgian fighter will be held at Kashueti Church. He will be buried at the family cemetery on August 21.

Berdia Jokhadze died in hospital during a surgery on August 12. The family said the Georgian fighter died of the complications developed after the use of chemical weapons by Russia. The expertise will determine exact causes of his death.

A total of 18 Georgian fighters died in Russia-Ukraine war.
