Davit Mujiri: We fully support the solidarity action of Georgian Football Clubs
Davit Mujiri, Secretary General of Georgian Football Federation responded to media reports about Georgian clubs.
“Today, no sanctions threaten the teams participating in the National League of Crystalbet. We have not received any statement from UEFA and FIFA. Once again, I confirm that we fully support the solidarity action in which Georgian clubs took part last week”, – said Davit Mujiri.
As a reminder, at the 19th round of the National League, the football payers appeared on the field wearing the T-shirts with the inscription: “We remember that 20% of Georgia is occupied.”
The Russian editions wrote that “Torpedo” will be sued in UEFA and be removed from the tournament.
“Given the fact that these events occurred in the internal competition, any further disciplinary action falls under the jurisdiction of the relevant authorities of the Georgian Football Federation. UEFA can only investigate incidents occurring in tournaments under the auspices of the organization, ” – UEFA released an official statement with regard to the incident.
