Culture Minister expects Georgian flag to fly, anthem played many times in Paris

“We expect that the Georgian flag will fly and the national anthem will be played on the pedestal many times at the Paris Olympics,” said Tea Tsulukiani, Georgian Culture Minister.

According to Tsulukiani, Georgia had the biggest success at the Tokyo Olympics but more is anticipated in France.

“The government, ministry, federations, Olympic Committee and each athlete did their best for more success. I want to wish our athletes, who I had the honor to meet yesterday, strong health, and physical and spiritual courage. This is the most important thing ahead of this hard effort, and then I wish everyone great joy and victories,” she said.

The Paris Olympics 2024 will officially kick off on Friday with an opening ceremony at the city’s main river, the Seine, at 21:30 Tbilisi time.
