Complex study of Rikoti Pass road continues

Professionals are still studying the landslide area at Rikoti Pass, Chairman of the Roads Department of Georgia, Giorgi Tsereteli, stated Monday, adding a traffic restoration plan will be considered once it has been completed.

“Topographical, geophysical, and geological studies are now being conducted with the participation of both local and international specialists. Once it is completed we will debate the following steps,” he said.

Rikoti Pass, which connects eastern and western Georgia, was closed to all vehicles on March 30 due to a landslide risk.
