Commissioner Varhelyi starts Georgia visit

Olivér Varhelyi, the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, began his visit to Georgia.

Deputy Foreign Minister Teimuraz Janjalia and Georgia’s Ambassador to the EU, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, greeted the EU Commissioner at Tbilisi International Airport.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and European Commissioner Varhelyi will meet in person and extended format, followed by a joint press point, the government press office reported.

During his visit to Georgia, the EU Commissioner will also meet with legislative authorities to review the country’s progress and next steps toward EU membership.
