CoE Secretary General: We see Georgian citizens struggling for European path

“We see here Georgian citizens struggling for the European path and I would like to underscore that the CoE is interested in your being partners in building a better and peaceful world,” said Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) at the Tbilisi Women’s 2nd International Conference (TWIC).

According to the CoE Secretary General, women’s engagement in peace-building is significant. She brought the example of the Ukrainian women, who fight for peace and humankind, the protection of rights of citizens and different groups and diversity.

“Diversity and unity what we see in the European Union, are what strengthens us and paves the way for peace and building the desired society,” she said.

The Tbilisi Women’s 2nd International Conference (TWIC) takes place at the ExpoGeorgia fairgrounds. Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili opened the conference, which brought together female leaders from around the world.
