Coalition for Change and Unity-National Movement urge CEC not to approve their electoral list members
The Coalition for Change and the Unity-National Movement are requesting that the Central Election Commission (CEC) refrain from registering their electoral list members or issuing them temporary parliamentary mandates. Tina Bokuchava and Nika Gvaramia stated this during a briefing.
Nika Gvaramia emphasized that the parliament is illegitimate and their presence would not legitimize it.
“The parliament lacks legitimacy, and we view participation as complicity in its illegitimate actions. This is the coalition’s stance and decision. Our list includes 82 individuals, all of whom reject any collaboration with a regime that undermines elections and represents the interests of the Russian Federation in our homeland. The Russian Federation is our only enemy. We reaffirm that the parliament is illegitimate, and we will not legitimize it by our participation,” he stated.
“It was evident on election night that these elections did not reflect the free will of the Georgian people,” Unity-National Movement leader Tina Bokuchava added.
“On behalf of the Unity-National Movement, we declare that we do not recognize the legitimacy of these elections and will reject parliamentary mandates. Today, each member on our electoral list will submit individual letters to the Central Election Commission, requesting that no candidate from our party be registered and that our authorization issue not be forwarded to the Georgian Parliament for consideration. These letters represent our collective will, and we ask that no temporary mandates be issued to any individual on our list, preventing our names from being sent to parliament for recognition,” she added.
