Clashes erupt in Parliament ahead of Foreign Agents Bill debate

The joint session of the Foreign Relations and Defense Committees was delayed due to a physical and verbal altercation ongoing in the Georgian Parliament building.

The opposition attempted to let the media and NGO representatives attend the committee session, which resulted in a clash.

The draft law on foreign agents, tabled by the People’s Power movement, is scheduled to be discussed today.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations met with the People’s Power and ruling Georgian Dream MPs in the Parliament lobby with a protest and whistling.
