City Hall installs monitoring system on Vashlijvari slope

Tbilisi City Hall installed a monitoring system in the Vashlijvari slope landslide zone near Machavariani Street, Deputy Tbilisi Mayor, Irakli Bendeliani, announced on Friday.

Temporary road construction and cementation works are underway in this area. The cementation works could reduce landslide movement, Bendeliani stated.

Deputy Mayor added that the current situation does not require evacuation, but City Hall has elaborated an evacuation plan just in case.

Tbilisi City Hall announced the landslide on March 15, and traffic in the area has been banned since March 16.
