A group of citizens rallied against a fuel price hike in Tbilisi on Sunday. Protesters claim an increase in fuel prices is an “additional burden for citizens amid pandemic.”
Director of WISSOL Petroleum Georgia Vasil Khorava met with the protesters to explain the reasons behind the price hike.
“Petroleum price increased by 110% compared to 2020. How can you imagine the industry maintaining the same price amid 110 per cent growth when since 2017 the excise tax has increased and the oil price has doubled,” said Khorava.
One of the rally organizers Giorgi Prangishvili pledged to continue the protest.
