Chronic medication financing to ramp up by 30 mln GEL, Health Minister says

Georgian Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili announced on Monday that the 2023 budget would provide around 30 million GEL ($10,619,469) for chronic medication financing. Furthermore, the list of subsidised drugs will be expanded.

“We will implement reference pricing of medications beginning in January. In the first stage, it will apply to persons with chronic and oncological conditions. In doing so, GEL 30 million will be allocated following the implementation of reference pricing,” said the Minister.
