Chinese Ambassador vows Sinopharm vaccine safe

Chinese Ambassador to Georgia, Li Yan, vows the Sinopharm coronavirus vaccine is safe, and it has widely proved its effectiveness.

Ambassador said more than 100 million doses of the Chinese vaccine injections showed no serious side effects.

“The Sinopharm is a traditional inactivated virus vaccine that is why it has no serious side effects. It is exported to more than 50 countries,” Li Yan declared.

On top of that, the Chinese government gifted 100,000 doses of the Sinovac coronavirus vaccine to Georgia, the head of the National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), Amiran Gamkrelidze, said on Monday.

NCDC Chair added that Turkey used approximately 15 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine. Besides, Azerbaijan secured half a million doses.

Georgia secured 100,000 Chinese Sinopharm coronavirus vaccine on Saturday. The country will start to use it after the WHO approval, which is likely in mid-April.
