Chinese 100 000 Sinopharm vaccines arrive in Georgia

Georgia received 100 000 Chinese Sinopharm vaccine shots on Saturday. The vaccines arrived at the Tbilisi International Airport by a special flight.

The vaccine is stored at a +2, +8 temperature regime. Hungary is the only EU country that has approved the vaccine and uses Sinopharm jabs. Its authorization of the World Health Organization (WHO) is still pending.

Immunization with Sinopharm will begin after it is approved by the WHO. People aged 55 and above and medical personnel will be able to get Sinopharm vaccine jabs.

As in the case of AstraZeneca and Pfizer, Sinopharm requires two shots to be received with 21-day interval.
