China Eastern Airlines: Launch of direct flight between Shanghai and Tbilisi to contribute to development of economic cooperation, people-to-people relations
“China Eastern Airlines has implemented the first flight and successfully landed at the Tbilisi International Airport. This event had great support from the leadership of both countries,” said He Xiaoqun, Vice President of China Eastern Airlines, at the Tbilisi International Airport, where the inaugural direct Shanghai-Tbilisi flight was implemented today.
According to the Vice President of the air company, the launch of direct flights between Shanghai and Tbilisi will contribute to the development of economic cooperation, tourism and people-to-people relations.
“The launch of direct flights between Shanghai and Tbilisi will play a significant role and inject new momentum into relations between the two countries. Shanghai is one of China’s most important economic and business centres, as well as a global business hub, while Georgia serves as a bridge connecting Europe and Asia.
Thus, Georgia will have a chance to be better acquainted with Shanghai’s advantages and business opportunities. China Eastern Airlines wishes to play an active role in this regard, to contribute to tourism development, business partnership deepening and become a bridge of friendship between China and Georgia,” He Xiaoqun said.
