We share common values, and we support your reforms to consolidate democracy and rule of law,” President of the European Council Charles Michel stated at a joint press conference following the meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday in Tbilisi.
“We also stand by you in fighting the current pandemic and its social-economic fallouts. The EU has contributed € 400 million to this goal. The EU is with Georgia in our strong support to your sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
Today, I’m here to stress the importance of our bilateral relationship and our cooperation in the Eastern Partnership region. I wish you, Mr Prime Minister, and all political leaders all successes along the path you have committed to. I have trust it will advance your democracy, stability and prosperity in closest cooperation with your European friends. Trust and confidence are key more than ever,” President Michel said.
