A charity marathon took place at Lake Lisi in support of wounded and injured servicemen, bringing together military and civilian personnel of the Ministry of Defense, servicemen, members of the diplomatic corps, volunteer organizations, as well as family members and citizens.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the event opened with the Georgian National Anthem performed by the Defense Forces Band. Among the attendees were First Deputy Minister of Defense Paata Patiashvili and Deputy Commander of the Defense Forces, Major General Irakli Chichinadze. In his address, Major General Chichinadze thanked the participants and organizers for their solidarity with wounded servicemen.

Runners covered distances of 3, 5, and 13 kilometers. Winners received awards and certificates, while wounded and injured servicemen who joined the race were presented with commemorative gifts.

Alongside the marathon, a competition was held among volunteer defense organizations, where the transitional cup was claimed by the “General Mazniashvili Youth Legion.”

The charity marathon is organized annually by the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, the Association of Military Attachés, and the Wounded Soldiers Solidarity Fund. All proceeds raised during the event will be donated to the Wounded Soldiers Solidarity Fund.
