Changes to Criminal Code referring to so-called street dispute will be initiated at Bureau session today
The changes to the Georgian Criminal Code referring to so-called street dispute will be initiated at today’s sitting of the Bureau of the Parliament of Georgia.
The draft law prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs has already been submitted to the Parliament.
According to the amendments, participation in a gathering for the purpose to illegally resolve the dispute by prior agreement, which is accompanied by violence from participants, threats to disclosure of personal information, destroy property, or passive participation in such gathering by preliminary agreement, will be punishable by fine or socially useful labor for a period of 120 to 180 hours, or imprisonment for a term of 1 to 2 years, or by restriction of rights associated with or without weapons .
