Chancellor Nehammer says Austria backs Georgia’s territorial integrity
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer on Monday said “Austria, like the European Union, completely backs Georgia’s territorial integrity.”
At a joint press point with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Nehammer went on to say that “Austria, among others, supports the EU mission in Georgia.”
“Seven observers are represented [in the country]. We will visit this mission, which makes a significant contribution to Georgia’s stability. Naturally, it is impossible to state that more than is necessary is being done in this regard, but we will guarantee that Austria is strongly represented,” he stated.
In addition, Chancellor Nehammer stated that “rational judgements are highly essential in politics.”
“Politics is the art of opportunity; we should proceed in that direction, and the Georgian government is doing so. I understand how difficult it is. I am pleased that we can contribute to this assistance, and as your partner and friendly country, please accept my support in the arduous journey that Georgia is currently on,” Nehammer said.
