Chairman of Parliament meets with US Deputy Assistant Secretary

Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament being in the US, met with Elisabeth I. Millard, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. Bilateral relations and enhancement of strategic cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

Millard thanked the Georgian side for Georgia’s participation in international peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan. Talks were also focused around democratic reforms, Constitutional changes and processes for integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.

Davit Bakradze, Georgia’s Ambassador Plenipotentiary to the US and Nikoloz Samkharadze, Head of the Georgian Parliamentary Chan’s office attended the meeting.
