Chair of For Georgia party: I am not afraid to talk about anything what I did

“I am not afraid to talk about anything what I did or took participation in the past,” said Giorgi Gakharia, Chairman of the newly established For Georgia party during the party’s founding conference.

Gakharia said he was part of the current government but he resigned from post of Prime Minister because after 8 years of being in power, the ruling party compared its achievements to the past. It considered that struggle with political opponents was more important than problems of ordinary citizens.

“At one moment, the party put its interests above the governmental interests,” Gakharia claimed. He added that he fully shared the responsibility for creating this reality.

The founding conference of the new political party was held at ExpoGeorgia fairgrounds in Tbilisi. It hosted about 400 guests, party members and their supporters. For Georgia party Chairman Giorgi Gakharia addressed the gathered audience.

Former PM Giorgi Gakharia resigned on February 18. He said he did not intend to quit politics.
