CEC welcomes involvement of observation missions in October parliamentary elections
The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia is actively preparing for the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26, 2024, incorporating electronic technologies in alignment with international and European standards, CEC reported.
The Commission emphasizes the importance of observation missions to ensure the integrity and transparency of the election process, considering them a preventive mechanism.
The election administration welcomes authoritative, neutral, and objective international observation organizations and expresses its full readiness for constructive cooperation.
“The involvement of international observation missions is crucial for enhancing public trust, strengthening democratic processes, and providing transparency and accountability.
The CEC is prepared to cooperate with international observation organizations throughout the pre-election period and on the day of the elections.
The experience gained from eight pilot projects involving electronic technologies from 2018 to the present ensures confidence that the elections on October 26 will be conducted at a high professional level under international standards,” the Commission states.
