CEC urges political parties to complete election participation procedures promptly
The Central Election Commission (CEC) urged political parties, interested in participating in the upcoming municipal elections, to swiftly complete all necessary procedures to secure their eligibility.
This appeal is outlined in a recent statement issued by the CEC.
According to the commission, representatives of political unions must submit their applications to request an electoral number by July 17.
“The next elections for the municipal representative body, the Sakrebulo, and the mayor of the self-governing city or community are scheduled for October 4, 2025, the first Saturday of October,” the CEC emphasised.
The commission urges all interested political parties to promptly undertake the required steps to ensure their participation in the elections.
According to Article 38[1] of Georgia’s Election Code, a representative of an authorised political union must submit a formal application to the CEC by July 17 of this year to request an electoral number,” the CEC statement concludes.
