CEC says election administration staff pressured

“Alongside attempts to discredit the October 26 elections, the staff of the election administration is pressured,” said Natia Ioseliani, Spokesperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC).

According to Natia Ioseliani, pressure is extorted on election commission members inside and outside the country with the same tactics used during the 2020 parliamentary elections. She demonstrated screen shots confirming her words.

“Some of them receive menacing messages and calls. They are bullied, intimidated and insulted with hate speech on social networks,” she said.

The CEC Spokesperson warned that the election administration would defend the legal rights of its colleagues and that any communication, which is against the law, would be submitted to the investigation for response.
