CEC satisfies request of three opposition unions to cancel their electoral lists

The election administration has cancelled the registration of the remaining candidates nominated by the party lists of the political unions Coalition for Change, National Movement and Strong Georgia.

According to a statement from the Central Election Commission (CEC), the decision was made based on applications submitted by the parties under the law.

“The CEC does not share the political and unfounded assessments expressed in the parties’ letters regarding the cancellation of the lists and the summary protocol of the October 26, 2024, parliamentary election results. We believe these assessments are politically motivated and do not reflect reality,” the statement reads.

The CEC further emphasized that the October 26 parliamentary elections were conducted in full compliance with constitutional principles and that the election results were summarized in a legally valid protocol.
