CEC Press Speaker: No coalition or block to participate in October 26 elections
“Neither a coalition nor a block will participate in the October 26 elections as per the legislation. Therefore, if anyone wants to be on another party list, he/she should quit the party,” said Press Speaker of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Natia Ioseliani.
According to the CEC Press Speaker, the Commission assigned numbers to political entities at the August 16 meeting.
Natia Ioseliani further explained that the CEC assigned numbers to 17 political unions and 13 authorized parties based on an application in line with the set procedures and terms.
Some parties retained the number they used in the last elections, she added.
“We believe that this is a significant contribution by the election administration in the process of election preparations so that all election subjects have an equal election environment and conditions,” she said.
The 2024 parliamentary elections will be held on October 26 in Georgia.
