CEC: Preliminary municipal election results to be published 7-8 hours after poll close
The Central Election Commission (CEC) says that the election procedures require more time during the municipal elections. According to CEC, three types of ballot papers presented this year need to be counted. 7-8 hours after the polls closed would be the optimal timeframe for publishing preliminary data.
“We would like to remind you that the election procedures require more time for municipal elections, unlike other general elections. This year, there are three types of ballot papers (single-mandate, proportional, mayoral), which need time to count,” CEC said in a statement.
