CEC deems photos of alleged cooperation with Russian company as fake

The Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) said that the photos of an agreement reflecting the alleged cooperation with a Russian company are fake and the CEC has no link with that.

“There is no such document – the election administration has never cooperated with the mentioned company or any other company over the subject of purchase specified in the contract,” the CEC said.

The election administration also remarked on the accreditation issued to Alexander Malkevich, a representative of the Russian media organization.

The CEC said that the accreditation was issued in full compliance with the election legislation and that it had no information about the legal status of any person.

The CEC also denied the allegation that Alexander Malkevich had personal acquaintance with CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

“Any local or foreign media representative is accredited through a simple procedure, including sending relevant information via e-mail. If the submitted documentation meets the electoral legislation, the election administration will issue the corresponding accreditation” the CEC explained.
