CEC chairman meets Public Defender
In connection with the October 4 municipal elections, CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili met with Public Defender Levan Ioseliani to discuss ensuring a calm and free electoral environment for both election administrators and voters.
Kalandarishvili briefed the Public Defender on the preparations undertaken by the election administration, outlining completed activities and existing challenges. He stressed the importance of providing election administrators with a stable and secure working environment throughout the process.
The discussion highlighted that organizing elections extends beyond administrative and technical procedures, with the quality of electoral processes largely dependent on the broader social and political environment.
According to Kalandarishvili, cooperation with the Ombudsman’s Office is essential for planning and implementing preventive measures.
Public Defender Levan Ioseliani also underscored the importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during the elections.
